Are you in the market for a welding machine but not sure which one is right for your battery pack needs? Let us break it down for you:
1.Determine your battery type: Are you using cylindrical, prismatic or pouch batteries? Knowing this can help determine the appropriate welding equipment.
2.Consider Material and Thickness: Welding material and thickness play a vital role. Our Styler manual/automatic spot welders are ideal for cylindrical cells that typically use pure or nickel-plated strips in the 0.1mm to 0.5mm range. For prismatic cells, 1mm to 3mm aluminum sheets or welding bolts are usually required, and because the material is thicker, stronger gantry galvanometer laser welding equipment is required.
3.Important note: Some customers have expressed interest in using laser welding for cylindrical and prismatic cells. However, this is not recommended. Even with adjustable laser power, the thin steel shell of cylindrical cells poses a risk of puncture, leading to increased cell defects and potential financial losses to customers.
Understanding these factors is critical to choosing the right welding equipment for your battery pack needs. Ready to learn more? For more details, please contact me!
